The commissioner’s mission is to keep units operating at maximum efficiency, maintain regular contact with unit leaders, coach leaders on where to find assistance, note weaknesses in programs, and suggest remedies. The commissioner is successful when units effectively deliver the ideals of Scouting to their members. Unit Commissioner Reports - to be completed monthly for each unit. Commissioner & Leader Training Unit and Assistant District Commissioners should complete Commissioner Fast Start Training as soon as possible after being appointed as commissioners. Commissioner Basic Training should then be completed. Complete the Commissioner Report for each unit monthly Conduct annual assessment with Key 3 in each assigned unit. Attend monthly district commissioner staff meetings Participate in charter renewal meetings with each unit resulting in on-time unit re-registrations. Participate in charter presentations. Help units resolve specific problems and improve their operations.
